    Am I "Forked"

So I'm running a "RockShox Lyrik SoloAir" front fork and somehow cracked the lower stanchion. Anyone have any ideas on ordering a replacement? Or even who to talk to? My thought are to check in with my LBS and see if they can contact a rep a RockShox. I'd hate to have to buy a whole new fork! Thanks.............Drew

why would you have to buy a new fork? probably a warrenty claim.

Normally warranties don't cover wear and tear. That looks like damage, not a defect.

You should be able to get the stanchions replaced through Rock Shox, or call Push Industries and see if they can do it (and tune the fork while you're at it)?

The rider landing on a boulder fork first is a warranty claim?

Check with your local Rock Shox dealer, you may get lucky with a warranty. If not you will just have to buy a replacement for the damaged lowers (not stanchion damage @dnlwthrn).

He needs lowers, not stanchions. Push doesn't do the Lyrik yet.

Chatted with my LBS and looks like I'll be buying a new lower. I know getting a free one is better than buy one BUT replacing the lowers is WAY cheaper than buying a whole new fork! Thanks all, lowers are on the way ...........Drew

If your LBS sells SRAM parts they can almost certainly get a new set of lowers for you.
If they do fork servicing they can swap them over as well.

Regarding warranty, that's obviously impact damage of some kind so a warranty claim is unlikely. But if you ask nicely it can't hurt.
SRAM have always been pretty big on goodwill to their customers, the worst they can do is say no.

#Edit, ah well, no free lowers for you, nevermind.
    Happy trails

haha fair enough but it could have been a fox 40 situation were the lowers were easily punctured. i still say try for a warrenty though.

Cool vid. I always wondered why so may people in that area were getting their rear mechs all busted up (and now forks). Until I rode SoMo. Brutal trails, but what a cool place. Can't wait to get back there this winter.
