Good job! This 4 Year Old Is Amazing!

I wasn't riding like him until I was in my late teens!

That is the greatest video! Man the joy that kid has is inspiring. Makes me remember why I love this sport.

Best part when the dad asks if he can see well, and the kid responds "no, I don't need to pee". Classic.

Really great stuff, and amazing riding for such a young kid with so small wheels.

Best part has to be him trying to talk his dad into riding the drop

    TOO EFFIN CUTE!

And for the record, I don't like kids. Kind of like cats. However, I usually don't mind them, and can actually enjoy certain aspects of them, as long as I don't have to live with them. So when I say the kid is really effin cute, know I am not easy to impress in this matter

    so stoked!

does anyone know any better alternatives to walmart bikes for 3 to 5 year olds? mine will be ready to graduate from the kick/push bike soon, and we are both very excited about his first pedal bike!

This is an awesome post... put a huge smile on my face... As the father of an almost 7 year old, that I am trying to get into mountain biking, I can truly appreciate how great the kid is.
A climb is really just a flat piece of road that points up. A headwind is a climb that you can't see. So it's all flat road, really.

To all those curious, that is Highland Mountain just northeast of Concord, NH. What a great video. I enjoyed that a lot. Yeah, we start the skills early around here.
Get out and ride even when you don't want to because ten minutes into the ride you'll be glad you did.

Trek and Specialized make great kids bikes in the $200-$500 range.

They still don't come close to islabikes which feature custom short cranks with very narrow q-factor, really optimized handlebars, brake levers, grips, saddles etc and are amazingly light. At least here in europe the price is surprisingly close, and resale value a lot better.

I have friends whose children have specialized and my son had a 20" kona. My daughter has a 16" isla and the attention to detail is at another level. Weight is close to 5kg too...

Ahahaha! I LOVE the last clip! The kid comes tearing down and does a little slalom (not sure if that is the technical term) into of an entire team of racers. A bunch of them can't help but gawk.

    Awesome little dudes!

Really? We are talking about a kid and you got to use the term EFFIN? Really? I also doubt anyone cares about your preference for kids or just how easily you are impressed. You are just way out of line here. Your reputation meter can read into the clouds but comparing a little fellow like that to the likes of a "Cat" is ridiculous. C'mon man, its a little kid and a proud dad here. I doubt the dad liked your "Effin" either. Good thing you dont like kids, I doubt your fathering ability would rate as high as your MTBR meter.

That is so awesome! I'm hoping to get my 11 year old there very soon. I had a tough job getting him over his fear of bikes at first. His lame bio-Dad did a great job of scaring the hell out of him at a very early age (long story). In the short time that I have known him, I have gotten him over the fear and now he loves riding his bike. My goal is to get him good enough so that I can drag him out with me on rides on and off trail. His mother on the other hand... she will be a little harder to get out there. I succeeded to get her out during a trip once. She had fun despite her many crashes. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
