New question here. 2019 Stumpy vs 2018 Remedy 8

    Hey guys,

Been on the search for a new bike and recently got to ride the Remedy 8! It was a pretty dam rad bike... And the components are it for $3300 msrp are awesome! Guide R and Eagle? Count me in! Originally I was looking into getting the new Stumpy Carbon comp (or alloy comp) but this thing has started to get me thinking. I not great with stats so what real differentiates the geometry between these bikes? I can see that some numbers are differnt... but they mean nothing to me. I haven't ridden the new Stumpy yet but my guess would be that its probably a bit better on the climbs than the Remedy. Would I be right on that? What other important stats are different on the two bikes and how do they affect the ride? Help a noob out here haha! (Size large and 19.5)

    Thanks guys

Rode the Remedy at start of the year...

It was a good climber. But, it was a little skittery on the downs o_0

I went with a '17 Reign 2, which climbs ok (not as good as the Remedy).

But, it blew the Remedy out of the water on the downs ^^

Huh! I thought the Remedy was marketed as an enduro bike and would be the other way around! My riding on it was limited to flowy single track so I never really got going good down hill. This is good to know Thanks man! I would check out the Reign but I would like to ride something from Trek, Specialized, or Cannondale since thats what my LBS stocks. Ride on man!

    Don't get me wrong...

Compared to a Fuel Ex, the Remedy will be a better descender no doubt.

It just didn't do it for me.

Possibly a sizing issue also i.e. going on the numbers I would have preferred a 21.5 Remedy (not a demo option unfortunately).

But, the LBS insisted the 19.5 would be right for me. It felt a little cramped for mind.

My 2018 Remedy 7 doesn't feel skittery. To each his/her own I suppose.

I just debated the same thing. I rode both of them and ended up with the remedy 8. The overall feel of the bike and components won me over.
