2011 Giant Reign chain guide
x post from the Giant forum since I'm not sure how much traffic it gets
Just picked up Giant Reign 2. I'm looking for any chain guide/tensioner options since there's no tabs for one on this bike. Links to website that sell guides that work for this bike would be great
Thanks!

not true, you could try a backspire stinger or e13 hiem guide to tension the chain and help prevent drops. pretty much every major guide company will make something that will get the job done.

I haven't found a stinger that mounts with clamps for the downtube only with ISCG tabs which this frame doesn't have. I checked out the e13 site and saw the hiem2. I'm a bit confused how these mount

So far the only thing I've found only works with a 1 by set up. Like the XCX-ST from e13 (can't post links yet since I don't have 10 posts)
Pretty disapointing but seems to be my only option

why are you looking to mount on your seat tube? get a bb mount.

Maybe I will try this route. I'd like to keep the granny ring if possible.
Thanks for the replies

with one of these perhaps:

Though apparently with a press fit bb youŽll have issues.
Can anyone explain why is that? and what happens if you change the press fit BB?

i just picked up a new 08 reign and im running a mrp g2 mini i had as a spare but you could also run an e-13 setup using a BB apator mount. but mine isnt for all mountain using it as a slope/dj and some am. running only 3 gears in the rear though using spacers.

You can't do this on the bb with the 2011 reign because of it being press fit. and as far as I know there is no bb adapter For this specific bb to switch over to a threaded bb. if it were abb30 we would have no problem.

I'm running a 2x9 setup with a 24,36,Bash on the front and a medium cage on the rear with just enough chain to barely clear a bottom out in both the big rings.

I got this from chain reaction cycles... Brand-X Chain Tensioner | Buy Online | ChainReactionCycles.com
the mount comes from this cant clamp on the Reign, so I have DIY the upper part myself, so far the chain never drop again.

I think it may just fit single ring.
