2001 Trek 6000 for $300? Perfect condition - pictures included

I've been lurking here for a while reading reviews on bikes i come across on craigslist. Anyway, there is a guy who wants $300 for a 2001 Trek 6000. He claims it's only been ridden a few times. I read up on the bike and it seems like a good bike with an decent, entry level front fork on it. What should I offer him(if anything)?

Never mind. I just got my friend to check his 6000 frame out (same year), and he has that clearance spot as well...

I just spent beter part of the last few months looking at used bikes, my opinion is that is just too much money for that bike. $150 would be better, no more than $200 tops.

    Good luck

Pedal clearance makes sense. My initial thought was to strengthen the bar for vertical vertical bending strain without adding weight.

Thanks for the advice. I might offer $150. About to offer $150 or $200 max on a well used 2007 Gary Fischer Wahoo Disc. Guy wants something like $400 which is retarded. He's posted that bike several times and probably wonders why nobody wants to buy it.
