2000 Superlight with front shox ????

I have a 00 Santa Cruz Superlight. It has been hard to find someone to rebuild or get parts for my shock. So here is the big question. I have a XC SID long travel 100mm front shock. I am thinking of getting a newer one. Does the Rock Shox XC 30 or 32 compare to thee one I have. I also have a vbrake on mine so I don want to go with disc. Any help would be great.

You have a SID fork, not a shock. You need a new fork or parts for your existing fork.

Yes, you are right that V-brake mount is going to be the biggest issue in getting a brand new fork. The XC32 will be stiffer and much heavier than your SID. You might have some luck finding new old stock alternatives, like a Manitou Match.
