$50 to spend on platforms. Suggestions.....

I am going back to platforms from clip-less. I ride pretty much all mountain and lite XC and although I love the power you can get with clip-less I find myself hesitant on stuff because of them. I know it is just in brain but I have not been able to shake it.

I have $50 to spend on a set of platforms and I am trying to decide what to get. There are so many choices nowadays....

So far I am leaning towards the Deity Compounds or the Wellgo B103's.

Anyone have opinions on either or other recommendations?

    Thanks!

Deity compounds. They are extremely durable and stick to your feet like glue. You also get a few color options. I've been using them for about a year with no issues. You can get the same pedal on eBay or from some other companies too. May be able to save a few bucks.

Another vote for Deity Compounds. They defy the 3 rules. They are cheap, light weight, and durable.

    They also work very well

Thanks for the suggestions. I keep reading really good things about the Deity compounds.

I just placed an order for a set of blue Deity Compounds.

    Thanks again!

+1. I've always run flats and have been on the Deity compounds for 6 months. Cheap ($48), very lightweight, durable, low profile, and available in green!
SC Solo + Ala Carte SS + old HardRock trail-a-bike = all the bikes I need ... for now

Forte coverts are in that price range, it's the only flat I've ridden recently so no basis to compare to those others.

I've had both deity compounds and the forte converts. I liked just about everything about the deity's except on longer rides I could feel the axle hump on the ball of my foot (because they are so thin). The fortes are a little thicker and larger so more comfortable (for me). YMMV.

BTW, I was using 5.10 impacts for shoes, so a pretty stiff sole already.
I'm looking forward to regretting this.......

Been riding Compounds for three years and just one bent spindle (my fault on a high speed rock strike). Cannot be happier with them and with Deity's customer service.
