Willow Winter Carnival XC Race 2-3-08

The Valley Mountain Bikers and Hikers are gearing up for their 25-mile XC race on the snowy mushing trails of Willow. This is the second of the four VMBaH Cup series races and will be held in conjunction with the Willow Winter Carnival on February 3. Conditions are looking good with lots of new snow and safely frozen water courses.

Details will ensue as race time draws nigh...

Show up before the race or pre-register

We're still working on the route but it will start and finish at the Willow Community Center. We're working with Travis Hallifax who is a local Willow rider to come up with a good combo of hills, swamps, and river sections. There's a lot of groomed trails to choose from. We'll be posting a map when we get it all dialed in.

You can pre-register by sending a check made out to Valley Mountain Bikers and Hikers for $20 to:

    Wildfire Designs Bicycles
    3901 N. Charley Dr.
    Wasilla AK 99654

or you can register before the race start on Sunday Feb 3 at 11:00 am in Willow.

Also check out our web site: http://www.vmbah.org

Thanks and hope to see you there!

That looks cool, I'll see if I can get a Kitchen Pass. There aren't any "ski-only" trails out there, right? My "Counsel Mandated" ankle bracelet zaps me now every time I get near one.

What, and leave a fat, low-impact tire print on top of skate-ski ruts? Oh, the horror, the horror!

Doubt it, your ankle bracelet should be fine just about anywhere in the Valley. There will also be a ski race and ski-joring races but shouldn't be a conflict.
