Anyone have an idea if you can ride up the placer valley now? With the lack of snow I was thinking it might be a good alternative to the wind whipped kink this weekend.

19" of snow at Grandview, 12" at Portage. It was pretty soft when I xc skied out that way a couple of weeks ago.

The knik has been wind free during the last few weeks. We rode on the Jim creek side up past Friday creek and continued up the center of the riverbed. Eventually we were turned around by the main channel being open after a few more miles. Lots of funky overflow this year making things dicey one week and smooth the next.

Has anyone ridden this lately, I was thinking of checking it out, once the weather settles down, but I've not been up the river to the glacier before it sounds like a pretty ride.
