    ride2recovery bike heist

    If you have not already heard of this from the news, we should all be on the lookout for the low-life scumbags that pulled off the bike equipment heist lastnite here in Anchorage;
    Bicycle Heist Hits Wounded Veterans at Downtown Parking Lot - ktuu.com

    Ride 2recovery, a non-profit group that uses bicycling as a means of helping injured soldiers with thier recovery lastnite had thier gear truck burgalarized and thieves made off with at least 5 of the highly customized adaptave therapy bikes being used by the recovering vets at a training event this week in Anchorage, AK. Estimated pricetag for some of the adaptive bikes stolen was up to $20K ea to produce.

    One positive update, one of the stolen adaptive bikes that was built for and being used by a vet who had lost both his arms was later found abandon at Kinkaid and recovered, hopefully the others follow soon.

    Does anyone have any idea what these bikes actually look like?

    They are all modified to fit prosthetics, so should be pretty obvious if spotted. Below is a list of descriptions of the still-missing bikes.

    -A CUSTOM STEALTH RIDE 2 RECOVERY BIKE.
    -A RALEIGH TALUS BLACK BIKE WITH BLUE ACCENTS
    -A FELT BLACK CARBON FIBER BIKE
    -A CANONDALE 29 WHITE BIKE WITH BLACK LETTERING

    So these are mountain bikes? Road bikes? Recumbants?

    Thanks! I checked several stories online and they just didn't show any real pictures in the segment on TV, so it helps to nail it down. I was hoping a more complete description would help those of us that know a little more about bikes and can spot them just based on intended usage/components/accessories, etc. I'll keep an eye out.
