Thanks! I knew about Middle Fork, but where is the Lost Cabin Trail?
Also: permits should be requested from csp@alaska.gov, correct?

Basher Road trailhead to Wolverine Peak trail. Speedway has a copy of the map on their facebook page. Looks to also be part of the Wolverine Bowl Loop trail.

A map comes with the permit that shows the Lost Cabin trail.

Today made up for last time.

Amazing snow at the top of Middle Fork and tires still blowing me away with how much float and traction they have. Felt like I was riding in a foot of snow (more like 3-4"). Snow over ice on a few of the exposure sections about mid-way down, but not too bad, lower part good, upper part fantastic.

Was a little worried about the rain going up the STA trails, but it was nice and stormy up top so it eventually froze/dried. Then the sun came out towards the end.Middle Fork Trail permits - get yours today!!-gedc0458.jpg

How do you set these up tubeless? Santa just brought a set. Also, are they sluggish and slow ? I love running my endomorphs still because they are so fast. Thanks

See the PM. Also, I used the wide gorilla tape, it's somewhere close to 3". Put the tube in the tires and pumped it up to help compress the tape against the rim (but that also created the spoke-hole problem I was mentioning). Still, I didn't want the sealant to work it's way under the tape, like I heard has happened from time to time.

I was going to post on the first thread that came up for a search on "Middle Fork", but the first one that came up was titled "Middle Fork is Decent", and I'm here to tell you, it is not decent, it is absolutely horrible. Top got that blast of snow last week, no one rode it, then it rained on top, so it's semi-crusted with post-holes from hikers and some giant mutant moose that decided to walk the entire thing. There's glaze-ice where it's not post-holed and it's not ridable right now. If you were thinking of doing it, save yourself the pain and walking.
