    Heading to Anchorage for work

    Heading out to Anchorage for work mid March, will be there over a weekend, so looking for things to do, maybe rent a bike.

    Any ride recommendations and shops I can rent from?

    Couple of mid-march Alaska fatbike events;

    The Trio ? March 12th 2016 | Backcountry Bike & Ski
    HOMER CYCLING CLUB - Big Fat Bike Festival

    There are a number of shops that can rent you a fatbike.
    Mid-March is likely to still be too snowy-icy-muddy for skinny MTB tires.

    There should be some good riding all over town yet in March. Rent a fattie and check out Far North Bicentennial park, maybe hook up with a POS (paramount on snow) ride group - I think they are out on Thursday nights, check out Kinkaid, or check out Hillside. Heck, even just check out the multiuse trails and explore the social trails that people cut in throughout the winter. The APU area is full of really nice trails that only really exist in the winter.

    And when you're here, post up here to see if anyone wants to show you around. Also, check out the Bike Me Anchorage Meetup page - lots of rides going on there.

    Paramount Cycles in S. Anchorage has some nice studded fatbikes for rent, was just checking them out today. It's a great shop.
