Does anyone have the results that they can share here on the forum for those of us who have already hit our limit of the stories we can read for free at adn.com this month?
Enjoying the meaningful pursuit of meaningless fun.

How did S. Loan win the women's 25? She was signed up for the 50. That would have given her a 5 minute head start over the other 25 mile starters. Even if race officials deducted 5 minutes from her time to take off the staggered start, she still got to hit the soft section while it was still ridable. The rest of the 25 mile starters had to contend with a course that 69 other racers rode over prior to them. By the time the 25 miler's hit that section, it was already a hike-a-bike for most. I hope that's another ADN misprint. Seems to me D. Calkins should've been 1st. Maybe I'm wrong, just curious. I do wish Sheryl a speedy recovery with her rib. OUCH!

Agreed, that would have been quite an advantage not haveing to deal with the mess all the skinnies made of the trail. Seems fair to me 50=50 ,25=25 ??????????

Here are a few pictures at the ADN web-site...I am the "lone competitor" in number 3:

Looks like the final results on the official Frosty Botttom page have excluded people who started with the 50, but stopped at 25 from the final 25 results. So D. Calkins, for example, is now shown as the 25 women's winner...and even I moved up a few spots...

No worries, folks. The guys at Chain Reaction kept Sheryl in the 50-mile results and awarded a well-deserved first place in the 25 to Dorothy Calkins at tonight's post-race party and awards ceremony.

Congrats to Dorothy, and a speedy recovery to Sheryl.
Enjoying the meaningful pursuit of meaningless fun.

Ok, I now I have to vent a litte. What post-race party and awards ceremony??????? This is the first time i participated in the race and to me the organization was kind of lacking. Website said to park at the lower lot and there were no signs for where to sign in, when I got up to the upper lot, it seemed that everyone else had parked up there where the sign up was. It was a big event, seems like the Chalet could have been opened to speed the wait for port-a-potties, $45 for entry and a buff with no mention of the Frosty Bottom on it, just Chain Reaction/907 advertising. Results were posted on here and ADN before they were on Chain Reaction's website.

And now I wasn't even invited to the party!! Never saw that on the website.

Appreciate all the work of the volunteers and really for Chain Reaction for going through the effort of putting this race on, but I think some improvements are probably in order.

The information about the post race banquet was e-mailed out to all racers. Most of the people who parked in the upper lot were only parked there to sign in and many of them moved down to the lower lot like they were supposed to. If you couldn't find the sign in, you would have to be blind. The racers were really the only people there, with a big wad of people all in one place around the registration table. The location of the sign in was also in the pre-race e-mail. You would have to talk to the Muni regarding opening the chalet. Results were only posted on here because they were copied and pasted from the ADN article, and, as it turned out, were incorrect. There were some corrections necessary before final posting. A race like this takes a lot of effort just in the permitting, considering it cuts across a number of different jurisdictions, each requiring their own permit which often come with fees.

FYI - I am not associated with the race organization at all, just another racer.

Roger, maybe it was my fault.

I never got any emails so maybe I mis-entered my email or something. Maybe more information about the sign in location, etc was in the emails that I didn't get, that would make a lot more sense than the apparent lack of info.

Totally understand the amount of effort that goes into an event this size, and appreciate it. Trail marking was awesome, finish was well run and it was great to see that many riders out there.

I do think a few signs at Kincaid could have helped folks park in the lower lot and show where the sign in/ start was located and t-shirts/buffs/hats with the race name on it advertises the race and sponsors and pays dividends to the race in the future.

It was the first time I rode the Frosty Bottom I thought it was organized well. There is a lot to do to make it happen. I would not want to try it. I got emails with instructions about the event also a there was more on the web. Thanks Chain Reaction and the people that worked to making it happen.

I wonder if there was a glitch in the computer system, checked with my wife and she got none of the emails either. I checked all the bulk mail and spam folders to no avail.

Sounds like I would have had a much higher opinion of organization if I had gotten the emails, sorry for the venting.

There was a bit of confusion on the banquet from others. Perhaps an earlier notice on their website would be helpful.

There has been others mentioning confusion with locations as well, I know the Abbott Loop trailhead to be one thing, others know them as the Elmore ball fields. Just a few little details that can be missed sometimes. Perhaps a google maps link may help with locations. I know that our Lions club uses a set of signs at the entrances to assist participants.

Overall I think the volunteers are doing a great job. They are learning and getting better as well.
