It should lessen the head angle by approximately 1 degree. There are a lot of local guys around here with green Goblins that came stock with 80mm Rebas that have converted them to 100mm and like the way the bike feels.
that helps. my trance was 69.5, so at least the 70.5 will be closer. do you know what the metric measurement is of the different sized forks with no load?

Your Trance was a 26inch, correct? HT angles aren't a straight comparison on the two different wheel sizes.
Are you looking for Axle to Crown lengths? They are different somewhat for different brands and styles of forks.
