We should have the official page done, with images and pre-order info, by the end of the week. Thanks!

It looks awesome! Will the components hold up to a guy that's 6'5 and 300 lbs?

It was posted earlier but it looks like the post was deleted. Somebody hacked the matrix but when the guys in sunglasses showed up and took his computer... well...

If I remember correctly, they're rated to 250lbs but I could be wrong. I'm 220 and I just ordered firm springs that will help but at 300 I think you're looking at an air fork upgrade.

I think the frame will be OK (you'd want a 22" BTW), but there are components that would suffer:

    1. Wheels - They will probably go out of true more often with your weight. You may need to consider wider, beefier rims with thicker spokes.
    2. Fork (probably the biggest concern)- The stock fork really isn't intended for anyone much over 200 with the stock spring rate and fork leg size. It may feel flexy and "mushy" at your weight. You can put heavier weight springs in it (there's a good tutorial here on the Airborne page from a fellow Guardian owner that upgraded his), but even then the highest rate may not be enough. You may need to consider an air fork upgrade like a Recon or a Reba.
    3. Seat - the stock seat with its steel rails will probably bend under your weight if you hit many bumps while seated. You may need to upgrade to something a little more stout with titanium rails.

All of the above would be a concern on most bikes in the price range of the Guardian or even Goblin. At the level of the Goblin, the fork issue will probably be addressed with a better fork like a Reba or Recon, but the seat and wheels will be the weak points.

If you are willing to wait until Mid-August, we will have a bike that sits between the Guardian and Goblin bikes in terms of price and spec, and it will have an air fork (Recon) on it. Then you'd only need to address the wheels and seat, maybe as you wear them out.

    Hope that helps!

Looks like the Guardian 2 page is "officially" up now, including professionally taken photos.

    Both colors look great.

Congratulations to all the Airborne folks for another great looking, great value bike!
