    Goblin fit advice

So, I am 5' 9" (well, maybe 8") and currently ride a 1998 Stumpjumper 17". I love the fit of my Stumpjumper, but I think the geometry is outdated compared to today's bikes.

My Stumpjumper is very aggressive feeling, probably due to the long stem. Some folks might even call it twitchy, but I call it fun to ride.

Anyone out there 5' 9" or so and have a Goblin? What size to you ride? I have to have somebody help me measure my inseam, but I am thinking it is 29-30 inches. Seems I need something in between the 16 and 18 Goblin...hmmm...

    Stumpy Geometry (mm / Inches)
    Frame Size 17"

    Seat Tube Length 430 / 16.93
    Seat Tube Angle 73
    Top Tube Length 550.5 / 21.67
    Head Tube Length 110 / 4.33
    Fork Rake 42
    Head Tube Angle 71
    Rear Center 430 / 16.93
    Front Center 625.9 / 24.64
    Wheelbase 1052.7 / 41.44
    Standover Height 761.4 / 29.98
    BB Height 290 / 11.42
    Seatpost Diameter 30.9 / 1.22
    Stem Length 135 / 5.31

I think the 16 is going to be too small for you. The 18 is going to be a much better fit. The 18 has a stand-over of 30.5 inches so provided that your inseam is at least 30ish you are good to go. The ETT will be slightly longer than you are used to, but more inline with modern geometry and fit.

    Hope that helps!
