I know, I forgot to take the reflector's off this morning. It was a little embarrassing but nobody said anything. Besides my two falls probably much more entertaining.

Despite the two falls, I am getting used to the bike. The two falls were more results of not knowing trails then anything else. I just hope I can make it through this initial phase of scrapes and bruises.

No action shots yet. I've been dialing in the ride a bit each time I am out. I dropped the pressure in the tires and tractions has improved:

Just pulled the trigger on 1 tonight! Looking to get back on the trails after a 15 year hiatus. 2 blown out discs will require some cushioning and I hope this fits the bill.

I hope you enjoy yours as much as I am enjoying mine. I also came back to mountain biking after 10 to 15 years.

    jhazard, great video!

I was actually getting a bit bored with "trail riding" - 29ers got me hooked again, and the Hobgoblin has me stoked! You guys will love it!

Glad you are digging the HG! Mind if we "borrow" that shot for our facebook page sometime? Thanks!

Absolutely. I wish I could get some better shots but there is a nice canopy on most of the trails so light is low. I am digging it, not my body. Both me and the bike have taken quite a beating since its arrival.

Is that a wood trail feature in the background? No wonder you are taking a beating!

    Let's see some action shots!

There are a few of those. One is probably 100' long and narrows in the middle. I dropped about 2' off of that one on one ride and took a nice hit. Out of about 40 plus miles of ridding over 6 different days, I've had 3 falls which I felt for a while after. I am pretty sure I bruised some ribs on my first fall which I still feel 2 weeks later. Between not knowing the bike and the trails, I knew there would be some pain involved and at 52 it lasts a bit longer than it did that last time I was out there, years ago.

    Hero 3 is coming soon.

I got one for Christmas from the wife, I'm sure it will result in some riding beyond my capabilities.... :nono:

    Nice ride BTW!

I hope to have mine within the next month or so. I have a custom Ti road bike frame to pay for first. I forgot that I took a picture of part of the wood bridge:

    Sweet video Jerry!

I would be interested to see some reviewers compare this to the Anthem.

Absolutely. After a 15 year break and coming from a titanium hard tail it will definitely be a change, but I am excited about getting back out there.

Hey Jerry, those of us in the Midwest that still have plenty of snow in the front yard are not amused.

You can take your fancy-schmancy new FS 29er and your warm/dry climate and....

Yes I did. Build went pretty smooth.

This was my first bike build since 1998 when i left the shop i ran.
    - Overall the bike was well packaged and pretty much in tune.
    - Had no trouble with the front derailluer.
    - Brakes were rubbing but a quick centering solved that.
    - Adjusted the headset and set handlebars.
    - Rear derailuler fought me a little. Could not get it to shift consistently at both ends of the cassette. Low side would shift fine than the high side would miss shift and vice versa. I know in older equipment that was a sign of the derailluer hanger possibly being out of alignment. Dont have an alignent tool so i will keep playing with it and see. Limit screws were too tight as well.

Pic after pulled right from box:
