I thought about it, but decided instead to build up an obnoxious orange 9:zero:7:
The tires I am running (Surly Nate 3.8") have craploads more grip in loose and rocky stuff than the Surly Big Fat Larry 4.5" tires, which is better for the terrain I ride on. If I lived in Alaska, or anywhere else where there is a lot of snow, the Surly Moonlander would be the better choice. My wife’s 9:zero:7 (the red one behind mine in the one photo) has 82mm wide wheels, but they’re singlewalled, so no super-crazy rocky downhill action for her. I am using the same “skinny” double-walled 65mm wide Surly Large Marge DH rims that I ran on my Surly Pugsley, so I am happy for the time being.
