Where can I get and what are some good 650B rims?
I want a set of 650B wheels to run road tires on my 26" bike. Other than that I'm a noob and don't really know where to go. My stock rims are Weinmann XM260 Disks, I don't think there very good but I would like something at least as good as them, same goes for my hubs and other stuff. My 650b's wont need to take as much abuse as my stock rims because they will be mostly road rims but double walled is still preferred.
I asked around at local places and they said anything 650b would be custom and cost around $400 for 2 rims plus tubes and tires :/.

why not just put some 26" slicks on the wheels you have, it would be a lot cheaper than buying a new wheelset. Also road tires would usually be 700c not 650b.

If I just put tires on the ones I have they would be over an inch shorter. With 650b they would be about the same/a little bigger.
Not road bike tires but like 1.5" easy rolling hybrid tires? Idk what you call them.

Way to heavy but thanks for the idea I'm going to go with the Spec Compund control or the Geax Tattoo light.
Although I still think a set of 650B's would be cool.

Will they fit?
How do you know if 650b will fit your frame? They don't work on all bikes.

Are you looking for rims, or built wheels? Custom built wheels will probably cost you at least $400. You can get rims at Universal Cycles, the Alex XD-Lite rims are pretty good for the price. Universal Cycles -- Rims > Mountain Rims 26in, 29in & 650b Universal can also build you a set of wheels.
Sixfifty has prebuilt wheels.

I think if you are looking for cheap wheels, you would be better getting 29er wheels and running road tires on them.

Most all 26" MTB frames/forks will take 700c rims laced to MTB hubs .....

That is not true at all. In fact I would be willing to say that only a Lefty front fork on a 26" designed MTB would take a 700c, but you would have to reduce travel. No way you would fit 700c into the rear of any 26" MTB.
BTW, 700c is the same as 29'er for size.

Lets do the math. Assuming a 26" bike that clears true 2.3" tires
26" rim = 559mm
2.3" tire = 58.5mm
559 + 58.5 (x2) = 676mm total outside diameter
700c/29" rim = 622mm
676mm clearance - 622mm rim = 54mm left for tires / 2 = 27mm wide tire
So if you've got a bike that clears 26x2.3 tires, it should also clear 700x27 tires. So a normal 700x23 or 700x25 shouldn't be a problem.
Since the OP said he wanted something more like a 1.5" (or 38mm) tire, then a 700c rim probably won't work.

Good math
I didn't consider the use of road tires. I just know that converting my Prophet to 650 b was tight as is. And it is one of the easiest to convert, so I knew that 29'er wheels would only fit on the front of my bike with the travel reduced on the Lefty. But that's what I get for not reading.

You could probably use 700c wheels, possibly with a 38mm tire. That would be nearly 27.5".

FWIW 700x35C tires fit in my Trek 8500 which is a 26er. If you are looking for a road wheel you should skip 650B and go straight to 700C. Most 650B road tires are going to be pretty fat like 35-42mm IIRC

Exactly why I was looking at 650b
I would need a complete set of wheels but I just want them as good as my Weinmann 260 disk's I don't need anything highend or custom or is that just the way they come?

Defo get some inexpensive "29"/700c mtb or hybrid disc wheels,(eBay has pre built sets for less than $200 shipped usually) road tires (or hybrid tires, real cheap usually) add a spare set of rotors and cassette and you'll be swapping from commuter to single track very easily and quickly
