    Felt Compulsion 650B'd

Stopped by the local shop today and they had just done a 2010 Felt Compulsion conversion. Azonic Outlaw Wheels and Nevegal 2.10.
Owner of the bike's comment was "Amazing!"

That is a fine looking bike. Just like with many other conversions, the bigger wheels make it look proportionally just right. That sus designs looks mighty complex, did you have a chance to throw your leg over?

Agree on the suspension. It's like a cross between VPP, Horst Link , and 4 bar. No idea what the equilink does.
I've been riding with him since he got this and never even sat on the bike. I think my Nickel conversion finally pushed him over the edge. Once he saw my wheels and tires fit it was only a matter of time.

It's creeping into the shops. Next, no blank look in mentioning the b size.

This is great news. Felt Compulsion now clears 650b... very smooth..... and sturdy DH durable Outlaw 650b wheels.

I never had a wheel to try but based on my measurements it wouldn't have fit on my 2009.
    I could be wrong.

I'll just continue to believe I'm right. I really liked my Felt.
I'd still be on it if it had fit 650B on both ends.

I tried my 650b rear wheel in the second year they made the Compulsion model (2010?), where a new Felt suspension designer improved the suspension bump action with good pedaling efficiency to be much better over the first year's version. But 650b did not clear of that earlier year due to a tight kink in the right-side chain-stay around the front derailleur.

Looks like there is plenty of 650b clearance with this new Compulsion re-re-model.

I have had three rides on the Compulsion on trails I know well and I can say I'm converted. 26" is dead to me. While I don't think that the 29" format is anywhere close to dead, the 650b is a definitive nail in the coffin for 26". We (RTBS) have been following the 650b 'trend' ever since KHS (one of the brands we carry) started to make them available as complete production bikes. Parts options were limited to components that I normally would not choose to ride in any formate and and have been waiting for the right options to make it a more viable option to compare apple to a little bit bigger apples. I had been running 26" outlaws on this bike fro a couple of years and they have been a great wheelset. Once the 650b Outlaws dropped I knew what I had to do and I'm glad I did. While I can't speak for the rest of the country, the format is awesome in the loose rocky marbles of Arizona.
