Hello all. The official fork thread is way too confusing to search. I am looking for a 20mm thru axle fork with 150 to 160mm travel that is 650b compatible. I am looking for a non tapered 1 1/8" steer tube. Does anybody know of a fork that is confirmed to work with 650b with the above requirements?
2011 X Fusion Vengeance.....enough said. Running one on my SC Nickel.... lowered to 130mm for now though....
Thanks for the suggestion, I hope you don't mind me asking a couple questions about the x fusion vengeance.
I have heard that you can adjust the travel on these forks.... So how hard is it to change the travel from 170 to 130 like you have it?
Does the axle to crown distance decrease when you lower the travel or does it just limit how far down the tubes can slide in to the stanchions?
How much clearance do you have between the tire and the arch?

It was a quick 15min job to lower the travel. It lowers the fork into the legs so only 130mm of travel is available. About a 1/2" - 5/8" clearance between tire and arch
a lot of forks that work.
Fox 36, RS Lyrik, Totem, 2012 Sektor and revelation (I didnt try crown clearance for last 2)
2013 Sektor seems will not fit, I measured the 15mm version the axle to arch, its just 350mm, so it will not clear a neo-moto 2.3.......
Drummercat, you sure have done some experimenting! Thanks for everyone's help thus far. Does anybody know if the 2.35 nevegal or a 2.3 neo moto is taller? I am running a 2.35 nevegal up front now. I have a white brothers fluid 650b fork and I'm looking for a bit more travel.

nevegal is taller as I remember. someone say 2.35 nev will not clear a 2011 /12 Giant Reign Rear, and the 2.35 neo-moto clears with 3-4mm clearance.
according to shiggy`s tire spec, nev is 4mm taller in dia. (2mm taller axle to top)
Can't imagine that any new 20mm axle fork would not clear all the 650b tires currently available. Marzocchi forks used to fail, but resent reports I've seen here is that now they do clear.
That's what I'm running, which is barely adequate for a Neo Moto 2.3.... to be able to run a 2.35 Nevegal I had to file the arch out a little bit, which is why I didn't recommend it. It's a great fork though.... perfect balance of weight, travel, stiff, plush, adjustable yada yada. I'm looking forward to getting a proper 650b version of it some day.
practically any 20mm thruaxle fork for 26ers will work, except some marzocchis, since they have that "M" casting on the arch. I've tried fox 36 van and float, lyrik and RS Pike. They clear well.
