Old enough to know better. And old enough not to care. Best age to be.

My Rev 150 is a underperformer compared to my Fox forks anyway. Need to drop their recently over-inflated prices for me to buy one of their forks again. X fusion may keep them more honest with their Fox clones. Need more service info and parts out though before I buy an x fusion . Can't fault Rock Shox on that. Superb.

Or just complete forgery all together? Just look at current fork descriptions. Phrasing like "spring adjust" and "spring option" aren't used by them. Also, "Air Pressure by Single Schrader Valve" is not terminology any Rock Shox spec sheet uses. Ever.

Plus "Maximum Recommended Rotor Size" is not phrasing they currently use. Nor does even the boxer recommend uses of anything over a 210mm rotor. This shows 215mm. Current Revelations don't suggest the need for anything bigger than 203mm.

In short.....you've all been punked by some 650b fiend who's good with photoshop and horrible at creating fake tech sheets. I call fake.

    Really?
Who would go to the trouble?
Did you analyze the image? Are the stanchion / sliders proportions correct?
Did it occur to you that the image in question is part of a larger story; that the story was not simply based on the image anyway. Not much of a punk then, eh?

OR you are the guilty party. I'm not sure why you would spend the time to check the existing RS spec sheets for phrasing, as well as the rotor size for at least two forks...
That kind of person is the same sort that would do the photoshop work to 'punk' people who actually follow this forum. I feel sad for you. Go back to the troll hole. Say 'Hi' to DC for me.

You would be surprised what people do for attention. And the lack of attention to detail shows it. It's not that hard to mock up something like this. Look at a lot of tech forums and such fake's are outed all the time. Look at Gizmodo, Engadget, etc.. day to day and fakes of all sorts pop up, much better than this, and few days later get debunked.

Calling me out as the creator is funny, and pretty weak at best. Partially because I am not a graphic designer. I've followed this forum quite a bit as well as keep my eye on a lot of other niches of the bike industry. And my guesses are usually pretty dead on. I've got 22 years in the industry. What about you?

Anyone who knows these products and see's oddities like a 213mm rotor and such this sort of thing sticks out. Maybe not to armchair engineers like yourself, but to the real world we catch up on these sort of things. Quick peek at the Rock Shox website shows many glaring things that don't add up. Rather easy, if you are observant.

There is no "larger story" just ramblings and rumors. Not that I don't think 650b has merits, but everyone in their rush to be some sort of expert has glaring looked over details real experts look at when such arises. It's banter at best. True, many companies have test rigs with 650b stuff all over the place....but you see a lot of stuff when you get behind the closed doors that never sees the light of day.

Not saying that 650b doesn't have merit, but the only traction it has over 26" is on the trail. In the market it struggles. Ideally it would be the only option, but don't hold your breath. Meantime, I feel White Brothers makes a fantastic fork and heard the new X-Fusion stuff is much improved.

Wow. 22 years in the industry.
I got my first mountain bike in '86...6 spd friction, roller cam brakes, biopace rings. Once I figured things out, I went to a Bridgestone MB-3 with cantis and round rings (funny how Grant Peterson was responsible for that spec and is also a 650b proponent). Been following the sport since Tomac was the new kid on a "Mongoose"...not an industry insider like yourself, but I try to keep up with what's going on.

As far as a larger story, the RS reference was just one point in the article published on Bicycling's website. Not exactly where I usually go for information, but whatever. If it's all rumors and ramblings, it seems to be coming from many sources. If half of it is true,
    650b won't be struggling long.

Frankly, I don't care if it goes 'main-stream', as I am content to enjoy the benefits myself. I also don't care enough to try and debunk or investigate the rumors (yes, looking at the specs for other forks counts as investigating). I'd rather spend the time riding.

Bicycling is just as susceptible to fakes as anyone.

Yet you responded? Fact is, all things point to this being a fake. Doesn't mean that RS doesn't have one floating around or in the works. Doesn't mean others don't. But everything about this points to forgery. Takes 30 seconds to see that.

Wasn't this supposed to be a leaked document from RS? Could be someone just messing around or a way to actually make it look like a fake in case it was leaked. Who knows? There is a very convincing document on the last page of the adjustable seat post thread of a new Crank Bros dropper post. Hopefully it's for real but a few have questioned it's possibly a fake as well.

My gut feeling...Fox is jumping on board and RS is not gonna just stand by even if the piece of the pie is small at the moment.

More tires are in the works and more bikes and frames as well. Once people start riding the 650B wheels they just don't want to return to 26" wheels. 29'r is a completely different animal that has it's own place for sure.

Rock Shox has no plans for 650b and they don't have a fork for it either.

I saw this post on bike rumor.com:

I thought of this very thread and the pic here:

Im sure it is a typo. There is already 15mmx100mm and 20mmx110mm, 650b is something new for them, I dont think a new hub dimesion would fly.

I'm not allowed to confirm that Rock Shox has a Rev 650b fork on the way. Or wheels.

Seems like all forks regardless of wheel size have gotten insanely expensive.

I leave for Austin on Wednesday in the 'shaggin wagon'. You have just provided me with a name for the Sprinter. May Lady Fortune bless you!

I have to pick up the grill for it but the cold box will be limited for post-event libations...
