    XTR vs XT

Ok mtbr's.... I have a question for yah. I have a superfly 100 al pro that comes stock with all XT components. well as a gift I received the XTR groupo.

It seems a bit redundant but it did not cost me anything so would :

    a. swap everything

    b. swap certain items and keep some XT stuff, if so which stuff

    c. sell it and get different upgrades like bars stems etc...

    Thanks

    Scotty

i say save it and swap it all off later on when your current setup start getting old... you never know when youre gonna need a new drivetrain.

Yeah... there's really no point in swapping XT for XTR. You'd be better of either buying another frame to have two bikes or selling the XTR and buying a new wheel set or cockpit. Yes, you save some weight going to XTR, but in some cases there is a durability trade off.

good suggestions.... I pretty much agree to swap into XTR just not make much sence...another bike we do not need. I already have Stan's race Golds as wheel set....and Crest rims

I figured I would swap the bottom end stuff: crank, cassette, derailleurs....and sell the other stuff to upgrade bars, stem, pedals, saddle and maybe some upgrades for the road bike.

I vote to swap. XTR is better for a 29er, anyway.

Personally, I would keep them around and run what you have if your not pressed for $. I always find they come in handy.

OR sell the AL pro and buy CF frame and fork then put XTR stuff on it...

You sure about that? I don't think XTR rolls any better than XT. If anything, XTR will hinder it due to the extra letter and larger wheels.

Can u put a bash guard on the xtr cranks? It doesn't look like you can and if u have priced the big ring on an xtr you want a bash guard.

m785 XT and m985 XTR use the same size rings. It was the older m965 cranks that had the weird large ring.

I'm talking about the newer ones. The chainring bolts are on the inside, or something. Not sure how you would attache a bash on there. Never seen them in person.

Is the Superfly your only bike? Sell off the XTR stuff and get a fatbike!

Swap out. Save the xt stuff for you another frame. You know you'rre going to get another one.

I'd save the extra and buy a new frame and work from there. why not?

I use the XT clipless because of the price but saw the XTR and M520s almost exactly the same in pics, off of Amazon.

I'd def save those components though.
