    Will a 29" wheel fit a Kona Project 2 w/ 410mm a-c ?

I have an old Kona Explosif. (1993). The stock fork is probably 385-390mm a-c. I have converted the bike to 27.5" wheels front and rear. I'd like to try a 29" front wheel but the fork won't clear it. I've heard the minimum length for a 29er fork is 410mm, but I know that probably depends as much on the tire and the shape of the fork crown than the a-c height.

Has anyone tried a 29" wheel in a new Kona Project 2 fork with the 410mm measurement ? If so, what tire did you use ?

If so it's going to be super tight. Most cross forks are 400mm and they barely fit ~1.9" tires. I had a similar set up and the main problem was side to side clearance, so like you said, shape of the fork crown has a big a/effect on it.
