Trek X Cal SRAM rear deraileur short medium long?

Well my GF hit a twig, yes a twig, which lodged between chain and spoke causing the rear deraileur to bend. Now we are trying to replace with original parts. But I have been finding that the SRAM X7 rear deraileur are available in small, medium and long cage? How do I know what size to use? We are new to bike repair. She has a 2012 X CAL WSD.

Get the hanger checked and aligned.

Looks like a long to me - if it's a 3X10 then it will be a long.
    From my notes:
My Long cage X7 is 4" between jockey wheel bolts.
My medium cage X7 is 3" between jockey wheel bolts.
X-9 10-speed rear derailleur on the SRAM website - they are listed as 55mm, 75mm, and 99mm for the short, medium, and long versions.
