    Tire question

My 29er came with slants 6's
They rolled fast but lack on the hard cornering.

I got a pair of nevagals and threw those on.
The cornering is amazing, but my buddies always blow me away on the straights now.

I was thinking about using one of each in either the front or rear.
So a nevagal up front and a slant 6 in the rear.
    Would this setup be optimal?

OR would it be better to have the Nevagal in the rear and the slant 6 in the front?

    Thanks
    -Phil

Your first instinct is correct. Slant Six on the rear, Nevegal on the front. You wouldn't want the front tire to break free before the rear, consistently.

Agreed with bholwell, and for even faster speed try the small block eight on the back.

I like the Slant Six as a rear tire. It'll work well for you.

    Thanks for the replies.

I made the swap but havent had a chance to ride.

I think that the nevagal up front might be over kill still and I might need to find a new tire that's in between the nevagal and the slant 6....

Any suggestions? I know that the ardent, RR, noby nics, are popular
    which one would you choose?

I have run an Ardent up front and liked it very much. Haven't tried the others.

I really like the Ardent up front (both the 2.25 and 2.4). Nobby Nics are nice, also. I've find that I can lean past the shoulder knobs on high speed flat corners, though.

The Ikon 2.35 is also a nice, fast tire, with similar grip levels to the Ardent 2.25.
