Loving the tire data base. You can add a WTB Stout OE @ 962g.

Stems are stems that are made from stems of stems, or stem's stems.

    Ritchey WCS is the sh!t.

Maybe I'll do that instead of ENVE.

Love the compact cranks on my commuter/tourer:

I have been on 3t stems lately. I have 3. The arx pro is cheap and black and white. The arx team is more expensive with Ti bolts. Its black and red. 130/120grams and work just fine.

The WCS clamps dont look stable enough for my liking. Whats the point of the giant faceplate and 2 bolts right next to each other on the top and bottom? Pretty sure its looks.

I had the same thought, though I'm a sucker for WCS.

You can get Easton Haven stuff for half price right now....stems are $49.
The more you ride it, the lighter it gets.

Pretty sure the clamp is designed that way for aesthetics only.

    on what basis?

the aesthetic of the clamp is the overall weak point, IMO.

"aesthetic" and "clamp" shouldn't really be associated.

    Hi there,

I currently have the kcnc sc wing stem but i think it is too much light for what i do with it.
I have a 100mm hardtail but we often ride some xc agressive trails and i like to shred it, and adding the fact that i'm overweight i need a strong, reliable, durable stem.

The smartest choise will be a syntace but i really dont know if i can like that stem. Is kind of ugly.
Can someone tell me an alternative for it? Is the ritchey wcs c260 strong as the syntace?

    Best Regards,
    jOrGe.mRNh

I'm also in the stem market. I'm looking to go Ti, unless anyone can say that is not a good idea (besides price). Only XC, fire road + occassional DH STrack.

Just purchased Syncros AM stem for $11.99 from CycleSport. This may not be the best in quality but it is certainly an inexpensive way to try various lengths or jump up to 31.8 standard.

RaceFace Deus has been my favorite lately, but mostly because it's nice and shiny.

I'm a pretty big guy (in girth), and I've only ever had one cheapo stem develop a tiny crack. I've never really noticed any flex.

I just picked up a Thomson stem at a swap meet for super cheap. But really, I'm not super motivated to install it. I don't really like the disc/clamp arrangement of the older stem, it has a super tall stack height (that I don't think actually adds anything) and it's super heavy compared to the other stems out there. I know a guy who cracked two of them, and he rides XC. On the plus side, it is made in the USA.
