Silver rims, 28h ?
Can anyone recommend any 29er rims in silver, with 28 holes?
Got to be silver, either anodized or polished, to fit in with an all silver build I'm working on.
Looking for something narrow & light, the best I can find so far is a road rim which doesn't have an obvious rim brake surface, so would look sort of OK with discs, but I'd prefer a disc specific rim.
velocity blunt SL is on the light side and comes in 28h silver.
Velocity Blunt SL looks good, but I've never been sure about rims without eyelets.
Any likely problems there?
i have built maybe 40 wheels in my career but i am certainly not a wheel building master and i found the set of 29er 28h blunt SLs i just did to be a pretty routine build. alot (most?) of the popular rims now (stans) dont have eyelets with the exception of the Pacenti TL28s on my FS. i called velocity for the recommended tensions and built to that (i would share but i cant quite remember and dont want to steer you wrong). give them a call if you do go with the SLs.
Lots of Velocity and Stans users do just fine without eyelets. Built properly they will be strong and durable.
