    Shimano matchmakers?

    Hello,

Been riding Sram shifters and rive train for the last 6 years. Just got a new-used bike with an XT/XTR group. It has 2013 XT brakes and XT shifters on individual bar clamps. I was wondering if Shimano makes something that is the equivalent of the Avid matchmakers?

    Shimano calls it iSpec.
Not as user friendly as the SRAM stuff. The older brakes require one type of screw attachment and the newer brakes require a different. Newer are compatible with older but not vice versa.

I could be missing something, but the OP has Shimano levers and shifters. The Problem Solvers "mis-match makers" require SRAM shifters and Shimano levers.

My bad....I thought they were reversable.

Don't listen to the people talking out thier ......

Yes Shimano f'ed up with the whole ISpec A and B crap. But since your shiters and levers are the same year it's a pretty simple swap.

You just need the ISpec shifter covers. I did the swap on my TBc and it was simple.

Pretty sure you need the regular ISpec for 2013, don't order the Bs.

Any idea if the problemsolvers adapters will still work with the B spec mounts. Looks like all my stuff is MY '14, x01 shifters, XT brakes

They do not. Just went through this with XX1 shifters and '14 XT brakes with "B" levers.

My local bike shop was able to find an adapter by "Matshi" that offers an adapter that will work with the '14 B-spec levers however they could only find it from a German company and by the time shipping was factored in it was close to $70. Wasn't worth it for me, I'm sure problem solvers will have one eventually.

Talked with the folks at problem solvers. They expect to have the new "b mounts" ready by February.
