    Shimano Deore M 610 cranks

These were announced last month, as "big wheel specific" lower gearing.

I'm not getting any younger, and think a 30T middle ring will make riding my Tall Boy more enjoyable. LBS tells me they are a 2014 product and not available yet. I also haven't found any online.

Anybody know any inside info on how to get one if these cranks now or mid season?

If you want that gearing right now, Wolftooth is going to be releasing a 30 tooth chainring that fits current cranks.

    Shimano Deore M 610 cranks

Thanks for that link. Also there is Anderson:

    http://andersenmachine.wordpress.com/product-info/

    Questions:
    1) Anderson says his is the only 30T 104 bcd with shift ramps, which would probably make it a better choice for 2X drivetrain. Couldn't tell whether Wolf Tooth is ramped.

    2) Anderson supplies special bolts and requires the spider to be ground for the chain to fit on the ring

Wolf Tooth ring is threaded. No grinding required?

Answering my own question, Wolf Tooth responded to an e-mail as follows:

Not ramped! Drop-Stop wide/narrow tooth (like XX1), can only be used as a 1x ring.
No spider mods required -- chainring is offset 2mm inward so the chain can clear.
Therefore, Anderson best bet for 2X
