I recently bought a used RockShox Reba Team (2006ish) fork used off the classifieds. Its been working great for about a month when suddenly it started making a knock noise whenever I top out the travel and the compress the fork. I can also feel the vibration of the knock in my left hand on the handlebar, it almost feels like the air spring piston is getting stuck at the top of the stroke and then suddenly lets free causing the noise and vibration.
I've read elsewhere of this problem but it seems like the remedies are hit or miss. I've never rebuilt a fork before but it looks like its pretty easy with the reba. I am not exactly sure what all I should replace on it to get it back to useable.
My list of rebuild parts so far:
- Enduro Seal and Wiper kit (amazon link)
- Motion Control rebuild kit (amazon link)
- Reba air service kit (amazon link)
- SRAM fork oil 5wt (amazon link)
- Snap ring pliers (amazon link)
I have all the other tools to do the job, but I am not sure if those kits are compatible with my fork. My reba is the older style, pre-2009, and I am not sure what year those kits work with.
