Rock Shox SID RCT3 29er Forks

    Guys,

I'm a newby to the forum and have just upgraded bikes to a Niner Air9 29er. The problem I am having is that I need to remove the front wheel as the brakes (AVID Elixir3) are rubbing on the rotor. However the forks do not have "lawyer tabs" but rather a bolt through enclosed housing (see attached picture). I have undone the quick release clip but it doesn't allow the front wheel to be removed, can anyone advise on how you remove a wheel for this type of setup?

    Cheers in advance.

    You unscrew it, counter clockwise.

    Is this a serious question?

Also, you don't need to remove the wheel to fix rotor rub. You need to adjust the brake pads, or calipers.

However, based on the question you just asked, I'd suggest taking the bike to a qualified bicycle mechanic and having them do it for you.

lol. Yeah righto, I can see the error of my way now, however in my defence part of the housing was broken to lock in the quick release clip to unscrew the bolt so it was not as obvious to me as it should have been.
