I have a set of FSA XC-290 wheel. Got them for really cheap ($190) on Nashbar.
The rims are junk, they are narrow and deep, don't stay true and use an odd splined nipple. They were a real pain to make tubeless as I had to use extra tape and a stans liner. Just a bad set up.
They hub have been pretty nice. Smooth and silent.
I want to cut some weight and run revolution spokes and get crest 29er rims, then use the FSA hubset.
Thoughts? Should I just get the full Stans Wheelset? Probably a $200 upgrade if I rebuild vs the new set which is twice that (w/team deal).
