    Panaracer Fire XC 29er?

    Hey all;

    I emailed Panaracer a few times about this topic, and I never got an answer. Can anyone fill me in, or give me some insight as to why Panaracer does not offer the Fire XC Pro in a 29er version?

    In my opinion, it's one of the best tires I've ever ridden...and I'd imagine it would be just as good on the big wheels as it is on the 26ers.

    Panaracer Fire XC 29er?

    Panaracer makes them, but they're sold under the IRD brand. Don't know the story on that one, but here ya go:

    Yup, good 26er tire, GREAT 29er tire, just branded IRD, as I believe that they ponied up the $$$ for the mold.

    The 29er version has a bit more open space between knobs, so it doesn't pack up in the damp conditions at all.

    I remember they were pretty slow rolling in 26er form. I got a Fire/Smoke set back in the day and thought something was wrong with my bike, or I was getting sick and feeling fatigued or something.

    You sure you don't mean Dart/Smoke? that was the front rear combo by Panaracer before the Fire, and they were slow rolling.
