New Bike. Swap out new Deore cranks for '13 XT?

    Hi all

Just picked up my new bike Santa Cruz Tallboy LTa with the RAM build kit with the Fox 34. Had the LBS take off the big ring and put on a bash guard. However, would I be better off swapping out my XT 2x10 even though they are a well ridden?? I love the 2x10 but my removing the big ring I have pretty much made a 2x10. The new Deore is pretty good looking as is the xt. So it all comes down to shaving some weight. What do you all think?

If you go with a 2x10 XT, you loose the bash guard capabilities.

I'd say save the cash and put it towards a set of better wheels if you haven't done wheels yet.

It seems you already own the XT crankset.
It depends on how worn the middle ring is, or put a new ring on or use the ring from your Deore on the XT.
You own it. Might as well use it.
