    Need parts recommendation

    I have a Giant Seek 3 (2012) that I've converted to 1x8. I'm using a 40t RaceFace narrow wide chain ring, with a SRAM 12-26 8-speed rear cassette. Current crankset is SRAM S100 1.1 172.5mm with a Truvativ PowerSpline 68mm x 118mm bottom bracket.

I would like to reduce front chain ring size to 34t to gain lower gears on hills, but the 130mm BCD of the S100 crankset makes this impossible. Looking for a recommendation for a new crankset and bottom bracket that would enable this. Not happy with the PowerSpline BB anyway, as it's already clicking after less than 5000 miles. Looking for something that will last longer. I do urban commuting exclusively with longer rides on the weekends, average 500 miles per month.

This is a good budget setup but it comes with a 32t chainring. You can always change it later if it is too low. Race Face Ride XC 32T Crankset - Special Edition
You are gonna need an ISIS crank arm puller and an internal and external BB tool to make the switch.
Change begins by doing something different.
