front fork QR advice 2014 Crave rigid

Hi all, I have a 2014 Crave SS with the rigid fork.

The drop outs have a generous cut out space compared to what I am used to seeing. Where usually there is a tight fit between the tabs & the end of the drop out there is a whole lot of space.

There is the small but possible risk of the clamp moving under stress.

Does any one make 9mm QR with oversized clamps? Or does anyone know why this fork is made so?

Not sure about your exact question, but Shimano QR skewers are just about the best out there. XT's are cheap and effective. Never had one slip yet.
