Fox new 29er forks for 2014
Last week Specialized released the 2014 Enduro 29er lineup.
These bikes have the following forks:
Fox 34 float 29er with 150mm travel
Fox 34 talas 29er with 120-150mm travel.
I wonder if these forks are going to be available for everyone in the next few months, or maybe Fox is making them only for the Specialized Enduro 29er bikes?
Till the Enduro release, Fox longest travel 29er forks were:
Fox 34 float 29er with 140mm travel
Fox 34 talas 29er with 110-140mm travel.
Does anyone know anything about it?

I would be willing to bet they are one off Specialized forks. My understanding is you can currently space up the 140mm floats to be 150mm travel.

Doubt it, but Specialized had Fox F29 Float 32 in 130mm travel before that weren't available anywhere else. They also are getting 20mm Maxle Revelation 29er forks for 2013 when the only option aftermarket now for the 2013 Revelation is 15QR.

Anyone know if there's documentation that can confirm this?

Artscyclery is shipping the 34 Float 29 150 right now (Fox 34 Float 29 150 CTD FIT 15QR Kashima Fork 1.5 OE). I have one coming ...but I may have to reduce it to 140mm. I wanted a black 34 float...

When your willing to buy several thousand forks you can get something a little special.
Fox normally unveils their new line up at Sea Otter which is ~6 weeks out.

Huh? A Fox 34 150-120mm Talas MY2013 has been specced as a "chassis" and complete bike for the Niner WFO 9 since all of this year already:
WFO 9
So hopefully Fox will wise up and have the 150mm 29er forks available at retail for 2014.
Rockshox apparently have a 160mm 29er Lyrik for 2014. I'd like to see Fox make a 36 29er >150mm fork too.

Hi. I'm on a new account so I can't start a new thread, so I thought I'd grab this one.
I have a 2013 FSR Comp 29er. It was expensive, but it came with a Fox fork you can't buy from Fox. Now that I've had one for a couple weeks I understand why. They made it for Specialized.
I like the damping and tuning options but since this is my first 29r bike I just sorta assumed that a flexy front end was part of the package. But now that I've dialed it in as best as I could (and installed an Easton Haven carbon handlebar), it's clear that the fork has some flex issues. The wobbly 2.3 tires it came with don't help, but with some input from a much more advanced rider friend who used to work at a a very good bike shop, he agrees that it's mostly fork flex.
After some riding and research we think the main problem is the fork. Tires are suspect as well, since just by touch the sidewalls are mushy even at 40psi (tubed), but since Sp. switched this bike's spec to Roval wheels instead of DT, they seem pretty stiff for a 29r.
The oddly spec'd fork has 140mm of travel but what Sp. doesn't say is that it only has 29mm stanchions. Fox doesn't sell a fork with these specs, they seem to think that a long travel 29r needs wider stanchions so they don't offer the Sp. combo to the general public.
Unfortunately, upgrading to a 32mm Fox fork with the same features and travel would cost about 1/3 what I paid for the entire bike! Otherwise it's a really good bike but the fork flex is pissing me off. The frame is stiff, the rear shock is ok but not amazing, the wheels are stiff enough I think, and the tires aren't wonderful but they're light.
The fork is a wet noodle though. Ideally, I would like to sell the fork for decent bucks and get something stiffer that has comparable features and isn't white. My preference is black but performance and stiffness at a reasonable cost (less than a grand). Triple crown forks void the frame warranty which is fine too, it's just a trail bike. If I have to pickup a half pound to get a much stiffer fork I'm really ok with that.
Thanks in advance!

You have 32mm stanchions, 130mm of travel. But okay.

I already talked to Fox, the 34 Talas 120/150 is OEM only.

I sold my almost new 130mm Fox off my 12 Stumpy for $425 and bought a used Float 34 140mm for $600. Well worth the $175. Good luck trying to upgrade the rear shock.

And what about the 34 Float 150mm? Is it OEM only too?

You can easily mod the stock 140mm Fox 34 to have 150mm travel. Been done before a couple times on here and documented.

Thanks for helping me decipher the fork on my bike! My saying that it had 140mm of travel was really just a typo, I knew it was 130.
So even though it's an "Evolution Series 29" fork it has 32mm stanchions? Confusing, but ok, thanks for clearing that up because it isn't specified (and I'm curious how you figured that out).

Because no one makes a 29mm stanchion fork these days. The 29 stands for a 29er fork in the model name.

And my fox fork has a 29 on it, a 34 on it and has 140mm of travel. How crazy is that!?

The new 2013 fox 140+ forks have a new assembly that is not easy to mod. Take a look: WebHelp (QuickTech: Forks -> 2013 Float 130 - 180 Travel Adjust). This page even states it only for reducing travel...
