FOX 32 FLoat 29 CTD EVO vs FOX 32 Float 29 FIT Terralogic?

I'm considering buying either the Canyon Grand Canyon CF SL 6.9 or the better 8.9 version. The thing holding me back from saving money and getting the 6.9 is the entry level FOX 32 float 29 CTD evo fork. I've always cringed a bit when it comes to entry level stuff, but since I know nothing about forks, I figured I'd ask here.

Is the evo any good? And how much of an upgrade would the FIT terralogic be?

Lucky for you Fox does not make any entry level forks. Their forks do need regular maintenance to work like designed--like an oil change every 30 hours. Do that and you will be happy. Fox has a step-by-step.

If you don't like the fork it is sellable for more than enough for a Manitou Tower Pro.

Thanks, you seem to be a real MTB guru But is the other fork much much better than the evo-one?

No. It is the same with a different feature, which I would avoid without a current evaluation of how it's working as a 2014.

ah, actually didn't know that. Can't find any info good or bad about the evo fork, but I'm gonna take your word for it

edit: Was actually going to get the medium model of the grand canyon, the 7.9, which features a rock shox, but I just couldn't get used to gripshift.

The XT offered on the 6.9 is a very good choice with many preferring it. The 7.9 model uses a M1700 rear wheel hub. It is a star ratchet Dt Swiss and with 36 tooth ratchets is my choice. It probably comes with 18s as is. Bikes are a compromise.
