    Converting to 1x10

My current set up is a 3x9 And I am wanting to change over to 1x10. I have a shimano hub. Not sure where to begin on changing over and not sure what I will need to change over. I need to change hubs or will it work with my current set up?

Any my help would be appreciated fairly new to this stuff

You will not have to change your hub. Ten and nine speed cassettes are the same width and fit onto the same freehub body. The spacing of the sprockets are closer on the 10 speed cassette. You will need a 10 speed cassette, a new 10 speed rear derailleur and a new 10 speed rear shifter. You will also need a 10 speed chain. You probably can keep your crankset but will have to decide on what size ring you want to use. You also will need some soft of device to prevent the chain from dropping off the ring. That is a job usually done by a front derailleur. Alternately you could get one of the Wolf Tooth rings which are designed to prevent the chain from dropping.
The trouble with having an open mind is that people will insist on trying to put things in it.

You could try 1x9 as well, just remove front mech+shifter and small and big ring and see if you like it. You will want 1x chainring bolts if you remove the big ring or add a bash guard and keep the ones you have.

If money matters, go with 1x9. Take off front mech, left shifter, big chainring and granny, and add 2mm spcers to chainring bolts.
If money isnt a issue, you have to get new: cassette, rear derailleur, chain, right shifter.
