Converted my XT 3x10 cranks to 2x plus bash... still kind of noisy...

Do I need to do anything else other than swap the big chainring for a bashguard? It seems like the chain is rubbing on the bashguard when I'm in the big ring and smaller rear cogs. Should I try to space it out further? How does one do this?

You could install some spacers (washers) between the bash and crank. You may need longer bolts that are equal to the thickness of the spacers so they can be torqued down properly.

Or you can tap it all around with a rubber mallet. It isn't a critically engineered dimension.
Even with washers it can bend in after a bash.

Hold it up to the computer monitor so we can see it.

    Or post a pic.
