Convert SiD Brain fork to RCT3......

First post....so hello Guys.... I am not pleased with the performance of my SiD Dual Air Brain fork. I was much more happy with my previous SiD RCT3 forks on my Scott Scale. I am looking at replacing my fork or modyfing it to get better performance. Is it possible to remove the Brain system and install a RCT3 cartridge instead...?? Or is there any other way to upgrade the fork...???

Convert SiD Brain fork to RCT3......

The brain cartridge is a sealed unit. You can remove the brain cartridge from the fork leg and simply install the RCT3 damper instead.

You need to make sure you get all the internal parts needed, everything inside the damper side of the fork leg, including dials, as Rock Shox list them all as individual spare parts.

Thanks.......i upgraded my previous SiD fork with RCT3, and the cartridge came in one piece, the external blue dials etc. were in a separate plastic bag......seems like a straight forward swap......

If you decide you like the RCT3 cartridge sufficiently better that you want to sell the Brain cartridge, let me know. I have a weird itch to try the brain in my RCT3.

I did this, very easy swap. You need both the compression/rebound damper
    assemblys.

Seems like a lot of work and $$. What about selling the entire fork and getting what you want?

i live in new zealand and a new fork is around $1200 (reba) on special maybe $800, new damper cost around $260 so still cheaper. then there is the fun in the experimentation :-)
