    Cheap 29er Tires

I'm looking to pick up a pair of 29er for my AM bike. Would like something that's good for AM and not too $ since I don't ride this bike that much. Any good deals out there?

from what I hear, On-One Chunky Monkey 2.4 and Smorgasbord 2.25 well set you back something like $40 for the set.

I am been using Smorgasbord 2.25 and I have to say they are absolutely good value for the money!

Where do you get the smorgasbord?

    Here's a list I've been putting together:

Tires Rating Size Weight Store Price
    Kenda Nevegal DTC 3.8 2.2 755 Pricepoint $38
    CST Cabellero 4.3 2.25 940 TreeFort Bikes $16
    Duro Matador 5 2.2 820 Jenson $28
WTB Bronson Comp Wire 4.5 2.2 880 Arts Cyclery $26
    WTB Bronson Race Folding 4.5 2.2 735 Jenson $41
    IRC Mythos 3.9 2.1 660 Blue Sky $25
    Geax Suguaro 3.8 2.2 860 Blue Sky $25
    Forte Pisgah Folding 4.5 2.2 643 Performance $30

I think I'm going to go with the Bronson Race. I've ridden on Bronsons before and they hooked up great. $82 is more than I was looking to spend but I figure the weight savings (especially for tires) will be worth it

The IRC Mythos run very narrow, pricepoint had the rears on closeout for $15 but I think they're gone. I've got one I haven't mounted up yet, but I have the 26x2.1 on my old bike; the rear 2.1 measures 1.84, the 29er doesn't look any wider. I like those IRCs, but they are probably much narrower than you are looking for.

Also +1 on the Forté Pisgah. Run it on the rear of my stumpy tubeless. Quite nice and can be had for cheap.

I've been running a pisgah up front for a couple of weeks. Seems pretty good. Performance had it down to 19.99 last weekend anyway.
I'm looking forward to regretting this.......

Ok, maybe I'll give the Pisgah a shot. Weight of the folding is 643 g for $30. The wire bead is $20 with a weight of 785. I'd probably spend the extra $20 to save over half a pound.

check to see if it's on sale though, they had the folding one for 19.99 last weekend. Same price, lighter tire

Thanks for the buzzkill . Jk, that's good to know. I'll keep the receipt and see if they drop the price in the next month. If so, Maybe performance will give me the difference? $20 is a killer price for that tire
