That's for your back side to decide I have had great luck with the WTB Pure V.

I've always run the Pure V as well, but this recent build I went with a WTB Volt and so far I really like it.
    But every azz is different

See I always felt the Laser V had too much padding, nice shape just too thick.

Which model of the Pure V, I wanted to get one but the local shop only has the Race or the Comp?

My bum likes the Pure V's also. Have them on 2 bikes. I think I saw them on sale at Performance Bikes recently.

I love the WTB Rocket V but mine was stolen. The WTB Volt came on my Kona Unit and it was nice but too narrow for my sit bones. I ended up deciding to try the Charge Spoon and it is so amazingly awesome I like it better than the rocket V so far.

EDIT. And the Charge Spoon is cheap $26.99 at Jenson

Depends on the version. I had a LaserV that was 350 grams and mega thick... so much I put it on my city bike. The LaserVDH is a lot thinner (or maybe the foam packed down before I got it) a lot narrower and covered with a slicker feeling nylon kinda fabric instead of leather/pseudoleather.

I also have this Aireon saddle (Supergo House Brand, IIRC) I got for $20 new. It has almost zero padding, weighs like 180 grams, but the shape is so dead-on for me that I can still go all day on that thing. Then again, it's on my singlespeed, so I don't sit much on that bike.

WTB: Pure V and SST. I also like the Chromag Moon although it has less padding than the WTB's.

LOVE the WTB Devo/Deva, but HATE the short rails.
Silverado pretty good but too narrow.
    Volt is same.
Laser V is too wide in the middle, and same with the Pure V.
At least that's what me bumm has to say on the matter.

If you ask 100 people that question, you'll probably get 90 different answers.

Best thing to do is visit your local shops and see if they have demo saddle's avail.

I've had good luck with the Speed V and the Specialized Phenom Expert.

The key to these 2 saddles is that they are similar in width. 143mm saddles fit me the best.

Best fit for me on a bike is my Brooks B17 on my road bike. For my mountain bike, I got a WTB Pure V, and it works very nicely.

This is a personal question. You might as well ask everyone here "what shape is your gooch?"

My gooch is shaped like a WTB SST and a Fizik Gobi. The only two saddles of like 15 I've tried.

Pure V. I have a Charge Spoon, and find it to be very comfortable, but I cant find one with a smooth cover, it has the psudo-suede thing going on, and I find that it grips my shorts and limits my movement.

As said earlier, there is no 'best' seat since every butt is different.

    In general:
    - wider hips = wider saddles
    - the more flexible the rider (in the hips), the flatter the saddle in longitudinal profile.
    - the more years of riding and/or higher mileage the rider, the firmer and less padded the saddle.

There are many exceptions to those guidelines, but they can be used as starting points.

Also: Some novice riders think the 'best' saddle will eliminate discomfort, when what they really need to do is simply ride more. A big part of being comfortable is physical adaptation and conditioning.

I tend to like a narrower seat, like a WTB Silverado, because it lets me get my ass back over the rear tire easier then a wider seat. Of course, I also find this saddle to be comfortable for me (especially on the rigid ss where there's not much sitting involved anyway) ...

    Rigid.

The Brooks is a comfy seat. The main drawbacks being weight and getting the leather wet/muddy etc.

To properly analyze your butt, please post a pictures of said butt taken with you in the assumed position, showing left and right profiles, rear view and from the seat's point of view. Wait. Never mind. You'll have to figure it out for yourself.
Use it, use it, use it while you still have it.

I know for me I don't worry about it. My butt gets used to whatever is on the bike. As a kid I used to ride hard plastic saddles on my BMX bikes so to me it really doesn't matter. If you must know my current saddle is a Fizik Tundra 2 which was stock on my Cannondale Flash carbon 29r. My butt doesn't have an issue with it nor the Prologo saddle on my carbon Synapse road bike.
