    Alternative to Nobby Nic 29?

I loved this tire on 26, GateStar was glued to the ground. Now on a 29er, it only comes in PaceStar (the hardest compound). When I ride on rocks and dusty trails it slips around and I have to be more carefull, not careless like on the GateStar
Still OK but not legendary nobby nic style.

What are good alternatives? Schwalbe does not make 29 in other compounds.

What I like most about this tire in addition to grip, is that it does not have a big gaps in the knobs for turning like many knobby tired. It grips in almost any angle (which is also good hitting rocks on the sides, not head on). There are many tires with knobs, but not many that I have seen with knobs all around.

    Alternative to Nobby Nic 29?

The NN is made in both PaceStar and TrailStar in 29". The TS is sticky and soft but wears out faster than a virgin on her first shift in a whore house.

I'm interested to try the Conti Mountain King in black chili as well as the Chunky Monkey.
