    20x36 x10

    Hi, All

Anyone out there running 20x36 with 10 gears on the rear cluster Shimano? I was told that the smallest recommended chain ring is a 24. I ride a fair amount of long steep hills so I was hoping to go to 20 x 36 with the new Shimano 10.

Should I just stick with 20x34 on 9 gear rear cluster?

    TIA

Title was a bit confusing to me, but I get it now.

There are some people running chainrings that low.

You'd actually end up with higher gears with a traditional 9 speed 11-34.

As an update I have been running 20, 30, 40 chainrings and 12x36 rear cluster for quite some time now and really like it, The cranks have to be modified in order to run the smaller chainrings
