2013 Specialized Carve Expert Component Suggestions?

I recently just bought a Carve Expert and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as far as upgrades go?

First thing I swapped out was the stock Avids for a set of Shimano XT.

Thanks for the reply. What all have you done to your bike?

Lol...pretty much everything. Only stock items are the frame , rear derailleur, shifters, and cassette. Have it for eight months.

The first thing to go was the Avid brakes...those were pretty bad. The next was the saddle...that was for comfort.

This is my first Mtb and have never upgraded a bike before so I don't know a lot about where to get parts and how to know what to look for

Then ride, ride, ride, and replace when things are broken or worn out. Use the money you want to spend on parts and take the bike somewhere new! See if the shop you bought the bike from offers repair/maintenance classes (or learn online).

While new parts are fun, exciting, and downright awesome, as a new rider its more important (in my humble opinion) to spend time riding and learning. As you learn the ropes, then it could be time to upgrade.
