2013 Rockshox reba vs SID 120mm

    Hi,
I am building a 29er HT and have done a mountain of research on the reba and SID.
From what I have read they are both awesome.
My HT will be used on rocky trails.
I am going for a lighter build without spending to much $$$.

The Reba is about $550 and the SID about $750. (Its not the xx ver SID.)

From peoples experience what should I get? I can afford either but is the SID extra money worth it.

    Any suggestions appreciated.
    Thank you

Since this is a SID feature for 2014 you should check it out, or find a 2012 dual air Reba.

The RCT3 damper in the Sid is awesome. That damper alone might be worth the extra $200.

Ok, sounds like the SID 120mm is the winner. Should be good on the HT.

Anotherthing you can do is bit the Reba and then put the rct-3 damper in it for able $100. That is what I'm probably going to do with my Reba. Saves money

I wouldn't if you are on rocky terrain. The Reba is much better at small bump and big hit together... I had both and liked the Reba better. SID is a firmer race fork... you either set the air too low and it bottoms out on big hits but has good small bump... or you go a little higher and now it feels like a rigid fork. There was no good middle ground for me. There are a couple other posts about this recently as well. Don't just get SID because you feel it is more high end looking or for the name.

I ditched them both and went with a White Brothers Loop 120... best of them all

Duggus nailed it. The Reba has the best of all worlds; plush, great small and big hit response, and fairly decent weight. Reba wins, in my book too...SID is just too darn firm and rattley, when dealing with rocks on a hardtail.

Re: 2013 Rockshox reba vs SID 120mm

I ended up buying a reba as they where on special for 2 good of a price.

I did some research on the white brothers 29er fork which looks very good. But I couldnt find a resonable price online and delivered to Australia.

    Thanks again

Hmm, I've got a new Sid on my HT and it's awesome. Set sag to 15-20%, run the RCT3 in middle position with 2 clicks of low speed comp. If you want plush just run the damper in the open position it's like a pillow, not sure why you would want that on a hardtail tho.
