    15mm to 9mm dropout adapters?

I'm having a custom frame built and am gonna mate it to a Fox fork that uses a 15mm thru-axle. I should have said frame/fork in my hands within a couple of weeks! Problem is my front hub is 9mm and it is not possible to convert it to 15mm. While I do plan on rebuilding the wheel with a 15mm hub at the end of the year I was wondering if anyone makes adapters to reduce the size of the dropouts in the fork to 9mm? Thx

Unless your front hub uses a 9mm thru-QR axle, you will have a hard time fitting 4-5mm of axle sticking out on each sides of the hub into a closed drop-outs fork.

And even if you could, I wouldn't trust such setup on a mountain bike. With the side torsion from your disc brake, chances are you won't be able to have a stiff enough front end to MTB properly and most likely always have trouble with the rotor/caliper alignment.

I wouldn't recommend it. Maybe you can find an used 15mm front wheel on the cheap meanwhile to get you trough the season ?

Mavic makes a 15mm to QR adaptor that fits their crossmax and other wheel sets. They cost about $10. Alternatively there is a seller on ebay, mtbtools i think, who sells an aluminum axle that fits in just like a 15mm thru axel. you can use either a standard qr or a 9mm RWS thru-bolt to mount to the fork.

this is a link to the one I bought but he also makes one that uses a standard QR. I have used both the mavic and the ebay adaptors with no issues.

    15mm to 9mm dropout adapters?

Haven't tried one yet but this is purported to be a good solution.

I recently picked up a wheel set with a 15mm front that I am hoping will end up a spare for my 9mm rigid SS front with this adapter.

That same dood makes the adapter kit for a standard quick release (link).

I have seen the Mavic adapters (here) work, but the construction of the eBay guy's stuff looks a lot more solid to me.
Neither one of these will work for the OP. He has a 9mm wheel but wants to use it with a 15mm fork.

Haha, come on don't get all excited at me. It's not like we're doing each other's hair and make up.
