My Lrg '12 Flash carbon 3 which is at 21 with the light weight RaRa's with tubes. I am guessing I could do maybe 20 if I go tubeless, just not ready to make the transition. I could have got lighter bars and seatpost, but I wanted the SL-K logo with the green K to match the color scheme of the rest of the frame. I could not find green K cranks. Candy 13 pedals. Wheels and fork were not stock either. I changed from the Sun/Ringle' Inferno's and went with a carbon XLR 100 fork. I am content with the weight.Your 29er weight-my-flash-29r.jpg

I was actually gonna go find that exact same rock and post my HT, which was half as heavy... his bike dwarfs that rock.

my first 29er and first geared Mt bike in a long time, been SS and 26 for a while, but 2008 Kona Kula Deluxe running a double and 9 speed, with a Fox F29 fork, was at 25# 10oz with one bottle cage and Mallets, just put candy's on to lose about a 1/2 # going to a road cassette and 42t instead of the 44T and 11-32 that came with it, so running a 32/42 double with a 11-26 9speed should put it at or just below 25#

Nice to know SS Adam. I know weight of cycle really matters a lot. But i notice that there is an other fact as i think about more about it.
Increase in weight will increase the acceleration. Earlier i have a cycle with less weight than a bike a have at the time. My current cycle is heavier and i think it is better that the earlier.

My Marlin tipped the scale at 33lbs as ridden, which includes the tire pump and the under seat bag of tools, etc. Not going weight weenie with this bike but a new front fork and modest upgrade to the wheels (maybe go tubeless as well) should at least get it under the 30lbs mark.

2013 Epic Marathon. 23.05 lbs with pedals ready to ride in size Large. So far did Tubeless, lighter stem (mostly did stem for fit reasons) swap only, Carbon post, and X10-Sl Chain, and 1 X 10 conversion. Next up is XO cassette, and XTR pedals and I will be at 22.5 lbs ready to ride. I will not swap pedals and cassette until I wear these out.

    Your 29er weight

Converted to 1X10 and changed over to SLX brakes, sits right at 30lbs. I'm going to swap out the bars and seat post for carbon, and may go tubeless in the future.

GT Karakoram LG frame, 100mm travel, 24spd.
    28.2lbs w/no accessories(includes pedals)
30lbs with bottle&holder(empty), frame mounted pump, computer, bike seat pack w/patches and tire levers.

For clip type pedals, why don't riders weigh their shoes? They are kinda putting some of the pedal into the shoe really....
So, the shoes I wear only weigh 1.6oz for a size 13! Just weighed them. My uncles clip pedal shoes weigh almost double for a size 10. That weight which is hooked to the bike translates into bike weight! I think same should be true with anything below the knees.
    My pedals weigh 1lbs even.
I do think backpack weight makes a difference too, but not the same as if it was mounted between your legs on the frame. I prefer not to wear anything on my back.
    Karakoram...ZS44, X-Fusion, Freq i23, Tioga's, Shadow & XT,Shim Hydro 180/160, MG-1 pedals & more.

2014 Epic Expert Carbon World Cup 24 lbs even

After a few changes, my size large Epic World Cup weighs 24 lbs even in rideable form. Parts upgrades include Easton EC70 Wide Light 720mm bar, Thomson X4 100 x 10 degree rise stem, ESI Chunky Grips, Easton EC90 Zero Seatpost, Romin Expert Evo Saddle 155mm (pictures show a 155 mm Phenom Comp), 2.3 Ground Control Front and 2.0 Captain Rear tires both control casing and run tubeless, two carbon bottle cages, and S.W.A.T mini tool, XTR 970 pedals. This bike weighed 24lbs stock and I got it down to 23 lbs even before I switched the stock tires. The weight penalty on the tires was pretty significant, but the performance on the trails here in Colorado is worth it.

28.99 today. Waiting on carbon bars, lighter saddle, and lighter grips. Probably 28.5 after that. Might go back to eggbeaters too, which will be closer to 28 even (with dropper). Not bad if you ask me

... none of my bikes werer built with weight savings in mind ... I built them to be trail bikes so they better be able to take a bit of abuse. Each do have carbon bars for feel, not weight. Each are 1x ... cranks are all 175mm (2 stylo, 1 slx). Each have Stan's Flow wheels set-up tubeless.
